Just installed (actually in process) a McCruise on fjr my 09. I notice that my throttle is not snapping back very fast (and sometime not at all) from full throttle. I have adjusted the throttle cable at the handlebar and think that the new set-up is correct under the tank. Any ideas how to get the throttle to snap back to neutral. What am I missing or can I adjust to get the throttle to snap back or maybe it was like that before I started the cruise install and just didn't notice...

If you've done the unwind it's possible it was doing that before the install, but I'd think something got screwed up or is binding somewhere since you were just messing with it. I don't know anything about that install, but I'd be going back to check my work if I was you. Likely something small and silly somewhere.

Did you purchase the McCruise cable interface unit ???

At one stage I think it was an optional extra, may come with the kit now ???

When I bought my 07, the McCruise was already installed.

I had to disassemble most of everything and re installed it, the throttle was horrible.

The original installer added a huge spring to the bike's throttle bodies for some reason.

I started by getting the bikes throttle right first then reinstalled the interface unit.

Works like a charm now.

PS one of the 2 vacuum valves, from the nipples to the canister was installed backwards, caused an error code as well.

Check your installation ones more and focus on cable routing as well on proper positioning of CIU - it is important that there are not a tension with environment of other parts or two small radius on cable routing. All must go smooth. I did not have any problem with MC cruise and trottle on my 07 bike.

Unit was included so just hooked it in. Will do some checking of things this afternoon.

Bummer.

As kebo123 mentioned, try and get a better radius on the cable bends, rather hard, tight spaces.

The only other thing I could suggest is to re-check is the assembly of the CUI against the instructions.

That roll pin within the actuator spool ????

Well I figured out my problem... Just like gixxerjasen suggested.... Something small and stupid... The throttle lock that I had not removed yet was rubbing against hand grip.

Thanks guys!

The small and stupid will get you every time. Waitasecond, I'm short and....

Glad you got it figured out, hopefully it was found quickly without too much disassembly.

Luckily the throttle grip was where I started... Didn't have to disassemble anything other than the grip...
