I too undid my center spring and let it turn freely on the shaft and that made the tension more to my liking. While I was in there I decided that my throttle cables had too much free play so I tightened them up. That was a mistake for my liking! It made the throttle too sensitive to every little bump. I ended up loosening the throttle cables back to how they were from the factory which was fairly loose when looking at them.

I've returned my center spring to factory spec after previously loosening one turn (took eight trys over 2 hours with wire and thread to pull it back = PIA!)...why?...G2 throttle tube and tight cables like I prefer = slower return to idle, especially while cruising...also, with the center spring relaxed the engine vacuum will delay the throttle plates from closing when the twistgrip is relaxed or released in cruise...we can force an idle condition by twisting the grip closed of course...but, the delay due to lower spring tension made me do it...as well as the increased and unwanted sensitivity...installed Throttlemeister to take care of tired hand if required...and when I install the Factory heated grips I got today the return action will not be slowed as much even further due to increased friction from the heater cables.

re: the slower return due to relaxed spring, understood and agreed however, i'll cross that bridge when i get the clutch release issue resolved. at this point, my 07 doesn't return to idle like it should, either, but no need in fiddling with the idle if it still gets hung up by the lazy clutch release.
