hi everyone. my name is sean and i'm the new, proud owner of well maintained 03 fjr with about 11,000 miles. i believe mine is a ticker, because i hear the same sound that it seems like you are describing. my question is this: did this rise to the point of a recall with yamaha? i see on another post that the dealerships are fixing 03's and 04's. mine doesn't have the extended warranty. if not under a recall, how much does it cost to have it fixed, and what kind of damage, if any, will it cause not to fix it? i look forward to your answers, and talking with you fine folks.

Welcome aboard.

If you check out the "Search" function on the forum, you'll find all you answers on this issue. It has been examined, researched and thoroughly discussed on the forum. Many times over.

In a nutshell: there has never been (and likely never be) an official recall on this issue.

However, in the majority of cases, Yamaha appears to be stepping up and fixing them as they occur. The trick is to have an excellent dealership on your side.

Good luck.... you should be able to get hook up, with enough persistance.
