I will try to reconstruct the Ticking Issues Archive when I get a chance to breath sometime after the MotoGP races in July. As of this writing (13 June 2005), I am simply too ate up to do much of anything... later this week, I have a Blackbird Gathering that I am rallymaster for, and the following weekend, I am entered in the Utah 1088.

I believe I still have the Ticking data all stashed away in various places, so I should be able to reconstruct the data, but obviously, I won't be able to re-construct the lost threads.

WC,

Dunno if you saw the post on the other site, but someone has them in PDF form. I believe it was in the pinned 'EZ Board Problem' thread that Marc killed. Check with skooter as he did reply to the post and he may recall the poster if, indeed, he has not already received the files...

Hope that helps!

Yup! I got it! Thanks to PeteInCO. He gets the f###ing boyscout award. Way to go Pete. I just wish somebody had saved the Jestal oil thread. I was gonna do it, but never got around to it. That was some good info.

Dale, I am sending the Tick Archives your way that I received from Pete. Its in PDF format, so I don't know what you can do with it.

Is he an acquaintance of Michael Jackson?

Please keep the weirdness to a low level. Yuk, I'm going for a shower now.

No prob, I'll be able to convert easily enough....

Radman, can we get a link to the mpeg, or send it PM? 14200 miles on my 05 and I'm not hearing anything like the silverware tick, hope I make it through to 20K and can say the same thing then.

John

Hope this continues to be good for you. Just heard of another '05 ABS model with 22,000 miles that just started ticking, and sadly enough, he is using oil as well. Total bummer. Especially since he's supposed to be in the Iron Butt Rally in eight weeks.... :(

Yeah, and he doesn't know WTF is going on after putting on 525 hard miles on Saturday last with no sign of noise and no oil usage. WTF??!! I am right at 24,000 miles as of last Saturday evening.

You know it will come back. They always come back. As you well know, Tickers don't "self-heal" by any stretch of the imagination.

BTW.... check your PM's, bro.....

I know, I know, butt, butt, what if its something else and not "the tick"? It sounded like "the tick" to me but I am just not 100% sure it was "the bona-fide tick".

PM back atcha.

Dougc - If you need a bike for the IBR, you can ride mine. You'll only have to move all your crap over, which will be a real pain. I think I'm safely past the tick window at this point.

Knowing what's involved, I know this is not an appealing option, but if you need it, all you have to do is ask.

OC,

Thanks man, I really appreciate the offer. I think I'll be fine.

If I really have a ticker I am quite sure that it will be taken care of rapidly thanks to WC and the great folks at Sunnyside.

I've let it sit now for several days and I'll start it tonight and listen really closely before I start making phone calls. Maybe I can talk Dan into swapping me back my old engine. ;)

As WC knows, I have a ticker. But in my searching I've never found any failers becuse of this issue. I know its not good, and it can sure lead to something bad, but is there any known brakedowns or failers becuse of this issue? Is it known that prolonging getting the issue fix will lead to other issues?

Thanks for the info!

So I guess its safe to say that there are no known failers becuse of the "tick"? Thats good to know!

Yeah your correct Ghost. After spending way to much time on the boards for years, there have been no breakdowns posted anywhere. The worst was oil starting to " bleed " out the exhaust pipe. No-one has been left stranded anywhere.
