My manual says 42 PSI in the rear tire and 36 in the front also on the swing arm. In the manual but not on the swing arm it also recommends 36 in the rear and 36 in the front for HIGH SPEED TRAVEL. I tested it and I think I know why. Why?

Tire psi requirements are affected by many factors. Load, tire design, ambient temp as well as the conditions you plan to ride under.

The amount of moisture in the air supply used affects the psi rise as the tires heat up.

It is also very difficult to find any 2 gauges that agree within a pound or two.

After pondering all these facts and making careful calculations, I put around 40 in and ride the damn thing.
