I was using my changer to install new tires on my trailer (work  ) and was having a devil of a time sliding the last little bit over the rim. The tire and rim were plenty lubed.

After getting it as far as the spoons would go (the rubber was so tight I could not get the spoons under it) it still had about 6 inches to slide on. This was in the 12 o-clock position. I had a thought, use the bead breaker arm to push the rubber on.

It worked well. Surely if it will work on a 6 ply load range C stiff wall trailer tire, it will work on a bike tire.

Worked for me YMMV

You must be a REAL man if you need leverage to get the last 6 inches of rubber on!

You about ready for Frosty Balls-The Sequel?

Great idea!

Another tip is to make sure and keep the tire as low on the rim as possible as you go around. Part of what the "helping hands" do is keep the rubber low, and well as keep the bead from backtracking. Instead of the $100 helping hands I just use a pair of quick C clamps, the plastic kind. Clamp the tire to the BOTTOM rim. That biases the tire to sorta want to go down as you seat it around the rim. Works for me... with lots of grunting, usually.
