Stopped for gas after ride today, mostly interstate, 90 degree weather. Noticed my front tire with these "ridges" on them. Never noticed before. Running 40psi on front, 42psi on rear. 165lb rider with about 40lb luggage. Any ideas? I hope my pic loads.

You can't load a photo here. You have to have it hosted elsewhere (i.e. Photobucket) and link to it from your post.

I'm guessing you are fairly new to the FJR and/or dual compound tires. The center strip is harder rubber and the sides are softer. Depending on where and how you ride, the cross-section ends out looking more-or-less trapezoidal.

What tire? PR4? T30? Different tread patterns tend to different wear patterns. I found the PR4s tended to wear toward the back of the tread blocks, nearly, but not quite, the same as cupping.

11000 miles? I get about 8000. The reason they are doing that is because their likely near end of life.

FJR eats tires.

If I could get 11k, id be a very happy man.

Just tire wear. I got way more mileage from pr4gt than I have any other tire. When I burn through my on-hand tires im putting another set of gt's on. I did notice that my rear, when it was nearing the end of it's wonderfully long life span, got hard.

How many miles did you get?
