I want some mileage out of a tire, is the ME880 the way to go and does it only come in a 170??

You'll get mileage out of an ME880 form what I understand.

No, you can get an ME880 in all sorts of sizes, but the 170 is the closest to the 180 size the FJR uses. :p

I would buy Avons as my first choice and let the looky lews look at the 880's in the window of the tire shop.

Just put another set of vons on Got 10k miles out of them and still had about another 1k to to go. I was on the road

and needed good tires for my trip.....

weekend rider :) :D

I put the 880 rear on mine after Z6 was toast at 4k miles.

I've also added the 880 front as the Z6 front was wobbling/cupping at 4k. I think I replaced the front at 5k.

I'm now at 8k and the set are doing fine riding brisk back/mtn roads here in 90+ degree heat in GA.

I'll be adding 1000 non-stop miles next week during my iron butt ride.

Looks like I'm sticking with this combo, cheaper than Z6 and lasts longer.

Maybe not the choice for trackdays but works for me.

Steve
