Any good recommendations? I really need a bike first aid kit and have been procrastinating for too long. TIA

Thank you for pointing that out. I guess I was too lazy to search and didn't remember it being covered here yet. Also didn't think "Stop and Go" was about tire plug kits and just assumed they were chatting about 'illegal' stops. I so dumb!

I figgered you figgered that, so I figgered I wouldn't bust your balls. I had to think a minute when I saw STOP AND GO, too.

I even bought one of those mini cig plug air pumps. Got that at Autozone, too. When I get a minute (HAH!) I'm going to see if I can fit the tire repair stuff into the mini pump box. I'm getting like an old woman who needs a bigger purse. My saddle bags are just full of junk. I'm gonna try and consolodate some stuff.

Following advice on one of the boards, I removed the blue plastic cover and the fan on the mini compressor (from WallyWorld). Saved a lot of room. Ian, Iowa

Thanks for that, Ian. I haven't even opened the box yet. Actually, I was hoping to NEVER open the box. But to consolodate, and strip it down some, I'll git er dun. I'll be the one I have is exactly the same pump as Wally's.

I did what Ian did and use the Campbell-Hausfeld mini compressor from Wal-Mart.

$10 . Threw out the plastic box and put a plug on end of it. My accessories plug comes off of battery and runs under the seat. Now I can plug in the compessor,Battery Tender or heated vest into same outlet. Stop and Go plugger and compressor fit under seat.

I've got the small compressor with the blue plastic casing. I'll pull it apart, see how it fits under the seat.

The Jastek power plug is a great addition.

As for a tire plugger, I'm using a reasonable quality plunger type with the sticky string plugs. I've practiced on the riding lawnmower (no, I didn't cause the flat on purpose), and I was able to make a good plug.

I know there's a mod to remove the under seat tray, but when I tried that, I had no decent place to mount the ECU back to. So I put it all back together. I'm not sure how this mod is properly done. Anyone have good pics?

The lawnmower flat was a real emergency. You see, if the gas cans aren't full and the mower ready to go, she won't mow the yard! I'd have to do it, and that'd be an emergency.

Here's the guts of the el-cheapo air compressors, several models are the same:

About 6-inches long, fits easily under the FJR seat. I also rigged an SAE plug end so I can quickly tap into my battery tender outlet for roadside convenience. The yellow arrow is a fan blade for cooling the unit when it's in the case, prolly best to remove, as it will scare the bejesus out of you when you make first contact!

Here's a basic DIY article on the procedure, scroll down a ways to find it:

Not a bad gizmo to go with whatever tire plug kit you choose.
