I'd love that, but sadly, the advertisers won't see the return on that kind of network and it'll see a fast death. Why do you think Speed changed in the first place?

I would love to see it, as an alternative network, but I don't think I'd switch providers to just add a new channel. (I do miss the early SpeedVision channel when they carried a more varied complement of programs, i.e. airplanes and hydroplane coverage among others.) I do follow NASCAR (you know when they actually race around the track), but enough is enough, and skip most of the 'Soap Opera' B.S.

I think speed was doing fine before. What I think happened is that Fox saw it as an easier way to create a Nascar network rather than trying to create a new network from scratch.

Interesting thing up in this neck of the woods. When Speed first came out it became part of the lower channels, which means the vast majority of cable subscribers would automatically get it. Generally this does not happen unless the station has wide enough demographics (or its an ethnic channel, but thats another issue). So then Speed becomes NascarTV and what happens. Viewership falls. Many many people I know who used to watch speed all the time dont even try and tune in anymore. I know I stopped even trying to find something to watch. Obviously I'm not the only one since Speed was yanked from its choice location on the cable channel lineup last year. Which means no one else was watching it either!

More power to them. If they get this going and it shows up on my local cable lineup I will look very closely at subscribing to it.

I'm all for watchin more racing of any sort while holding down my couch but they all need to get more Motorcycle TV! (moto-tv). Speed was Okay with their 2 Wheel Tuesday but now its just Import car crap! What we need is a dedicated 2 wheel network. (but will never happen, maybe when gas hit $6 / gallon and we have a bike ratio equal to Europe.
