I took my '06 to TNT Yamaha LLC in Quincy, IL for the ignition recall. I have only used them once before for the ECU recall. The mechanic they use for the FJR is John and he is easy to get along with, will explain things and seems to know his stuff. So I had him change the brake and clutch fluid and coolant. He said he'd retouque the bearing since the triple clamp would be off anyway.
So I was a bit surprised to find something had been sprayed on the lower right of the windscreen that caused it to look like it was chipped in a bunch of places--- not anything to catch a finger nail on, but just looked chipped when viewing from the cockpit. At other angles it sometimes disappeared. I noticed it the next day, but thought well it's had 3 years on it so what the hell. But it did catch my eye every time I got on the bike yesterday. Life is tuff when you are anal.
I thought John should know something he used got on the windscreen so he would be aware and not get it on another. I figured he knew enough to wipe brake fluid off. I used the trip as an excuse to try out my new cold weather stuff at 28 degrees. When I showed the marks to John he said he must have got some brake fluid on it and failed to notice. He said some had sprayed and he was careful to get it off the fairing. I figured, **** happens and it wasn't that big of a deal since the blemish wasn't in the line of sight. I thought he might have been using some other chemicals and wanted to warn him before he messed up a real high dollar one in a bad way. We left it at that.
Sorry for the long story-- bottom line is John called me this morning and said a new one was ordered and to come by next week and he would put it on. No charge.
Attaboy for TNT. Wanna guess who will be doing my upcoming valve check and swing arm repack?

By the way, their rates are less than the Suzuki dealer and Honda dealers in the area.
