For ride reports, is it better to put the caption that goes with a picture before the photo or after it?

Although traditionally in other forms of media, I realize that the caption always goes below (or after) the picture, in this format, I find it easier to read the report with the caption before the picture. Still, maybe my thinking is "BASS-ackwards", and if so, that won't be the first (OR LAST) time it's happened.

What do ya'll think?

Above the photo. Makes a RR easier to follow; especially when scrolling through a lot of pictures. To avoid confusion, leave some extra space below the photo before the next caption.

Both?

When holding a news paper you can glance down at the text either before or after looking at the picture, but on a computer screen where you have to scroll down it's easier to put the text first. Unless the picture really needs to be seen first before reading the caption.

(Why bother with a caption, many people only 'read' the pictures anyway?)

I vote for "before". It just seems right, somehow. That makes 4 out of 5 for "above". (ionbeam, of course, wants it both ways, so he gets two votes . But, he's right, many here don't [can't?] read.)

I always do mine before. Usually the text is for setting up the photo and sometimes as you are scrolling you stop to look at the photo and think "Now what is going on here and what is bustanut doing with that sheep?" and then you have to look down for the description. Often times these photos require a warning before viewing them so before is usually prudent.

I like the captions before the picture also. AND...Unlike some of you neanderthals, I do read the captions. I like to know exactly what is going on. Lol

Some photo's just need a prefix ...like before you knuckleheads make a wrong assumption!

My g/f asking me "Are you sure you want to go out and ride your stupid motorcycle tonight?"

,,,and as Beemer Don would say... 'nuff said!

I prefer to let the photo tell the story. 98% of the time it's fairly obvious what the photo is showing and typing exactly what is being seen is redundant. But if text is needed it should come before/above the image as you scroll down the page would be my opinion.

Less clutter is better & easier on the eyes...with that thought in mind Top_Speed, that is very, very easy on the eyes Sir!

Kevin, if this Gorgeous Darling asked her Papa Chuy that question I'd pitch ALL of my motorcycles into the nearest canal! Hubba, hubba, and hubba!!!

When you meet her you might not say that!?!... she's a firecracker (but in a fun kinda way). I already got the ultimatum on having the FJR along side "the new secret weapon"... "Oh that ain't happening!" and also I got the... "the ring better cost twice as much deer!"

I still say the ghey way is much easier and CHEAPER! Holy Fawk, she's killing me! ;)

No disrespect...but I can tell by looking at her she's high maintenance.

My first wife had bolt on ******* as well (that I paid for...$5000) and she worked out at the gym 5 days a week oh and she entered swimsuit figure competitions as well. My advice is keep her as a girlfriend and have fun, then when things start getting serious, run, run far far away and move on. If she's already "killing me" as you say I think you've crossed that threshold already.

Hot *** and a pretty little thang on your arm to show off to the boys gets real old, real quick when the whinning & demands start.
