So it's about a week before we head out for our Big Adventure to Powell, WY, where my friend Dorothy has a summer/retirement home (it's also her home town and will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary which we will be attending the weekend of June 27/28 before heading back. The bike had its checkup last weekend, tires are good, farkles added (Vista Cruise, Givi top case, MotoFizz touring bag), and mental state is defintely READY!!!

We meet up with my friend from the UK, Sally, in SF on Saturday afternoon to get her rental bike and then we are off! Anyway, here is our itinerary for the trip out:

Saturday, June 20 SF to Fort Bragg, CA – 101 to 128 or 20

Sunday, June 21 Fort Bragg to Redding, CA – 299 or 36

Monday, June 22 Redding to Klamath Falls, OR – Lassen/Burney Falls

Tuesday, June 23 KF to Prairie City, OR – FR 14/16, Strawberry Mtns.

Wednesday, June 24 PC to Boise, ID – Craters of the Moon

Thursday, June 25 Boise to Driggs, ID – Grand Tetons

Friday, June 26 Driggs to Powell, WY – through Yellowstone briefly

Sat/Sun, June 27-28 Day rides in area – Beartooth, Chief Joseph, etc.

Our trip back is still in the works and will be dependent up on weather conditions through Oregon and such but the general idea is here. If anyone is around these areas (rAK!) and would like to hook up for dinner or a bit of the ride, PM me and we'll see if we can't figure out a way to make that happen! :yahoo:

Can you handle those long days in the saddle?

J/K!!!! Lots of photo opportunities, etc.

Hmmmm, we're going to be a few days ahead of you @ Beartooth, Chief Joseph, Yellowstone, etc. (Beartooth & Chief Joseph on June 23, Yellowstone-Grand Tetons to Jackson WY on June 24)

A few of us stopped at Craters a couple of years ago. What a different place, I hope you like it, too.

Bust?? What, I'm the alternative? Ya might just wanna give me wife a bit 'o' warning eh?

Have a safe and fun trip lady.

:jester:

Tyler, have a great time - that's some beautiful parts of the country. I was up in Yellowstone a couple years ago and was disappointed I didn't get the chance to ride Beartooth. Be sure and take lots of pictures so I can see what I missed.

Do you have a mascot to ride with you? If not you might be able to talk to Ray...

:D

Driggs ????? Why would anyone spend a night in Driggs.

My sister used to live next door in Victor (the Naughty Pine is good watering hole). There's a Patagonia outlet store in Driggs. Not a whole lot more though  Don't let the scoops get to ya.

Sounds like a great trip. Enjoy yourself.

Probably cause it's a place that no one would go! Supposedly has good views of the Tetons? Plus the idea is to stay at out of the way places, not the big cities, to experience small places and towns and funky restaurants and such... hey, it's got a Best Western too, ya know! ;)

Sunday, June 21 Fort Bragg to Redding, CA – 299 or 36 (1-36-3-299=245 miles of :yahoo: .)

Monday, June 22 Redding to Klamath Falls, OR – Lassen/Burney Falls This will be a fun day (near 300 miles) but lots of twists and turns and stopping in Lassen and at Burney

Great trip Tyler. Maybe we can connect up for a cuppa when you are in Yellowstone.

Looking at your homeward route, you can cut south from Twin Bridges to Dillon and then over through Bannack (an early Montana capital) and then through Wisdom to rte 93 and down to the Lolo. Of course that would cause to miss out on Butte, America, which has its own charm, if you like superfund sites

Cheers,

7X

We are just south of Bend. If you need a place to crash going or coming there are spare bedrooms ready for visitors. shout if you need anything. 541-536-8556

No worries, 'things' WILL be taken care of in Nakusp... :evilsmiley:

In the past 12 months I have been to about everywhhere you mentioned except CA36, which is on my bucket list. Good riding and hope you have a great time. Be flexible and follow your nose if a road looks good. It will be a treat! Ride Beartooth earlier in the day, the light fades fast and it is not as much fun in the dark.

Enjoy! :clapping:

Wow, you party HARD! :dribble:

Ride safe, and watch out for the OSP. They like their radar traps.
