This is a picture of the funnel cloud from the front porch of our house. It was getting smaller and went away pretty soon. It was heading to the Left...I was getting the neighborhood kids rounded up and in one location so we could get them to shelter quickly if need be. Sherri, of course, got the picture.

Crazy weather. And it's supposed to SNOW in Creston. Maybe even TWN will get some white stuff.

Hey, O'vale. I heard you guys were getting our rain in (not so) Sunny California, but I'm kinda surprised that you're gettin' all our Texas weather.

Take care with that stuff, it can be very un-cool.

Even the baby ones like that can be trouble.

I hope you're right about TWN getting some snow. That will give us northerners a chance to rub it in for a change. In my part of NY we are getting warm weather and sunshine. Guess I'll quit work a little early and go burn some gasoline...... :bleh:

Nice photo. You almost have the routine down. When you see weather like that, everyone goes out into their front yards and watches it. Thoughts of finding shelter aren't often entertained as the weather is the entertainment.

[who's HS graduation was postponed due to a tornado that completely demolished an entire (small) town 60 miles away that same day.]

In our "Sunny So. Cal" area it is cold (48 deg.) and windy; 1000 feet above us it is snowing and our Jeep club will be making a snow run tomorrow. B)

You absolutely MUST find the nearest illiterate, partially toothed neighbor that you have that also lives in a mobile home. If you are unfortunate enough to experience the twisty, this neighbor is the only one that the local news crew will interview.

I can't believe how true that is!!

You know, I lived in Nebraska for 2 years and 5 months. During that time I saw 7 tornados. One was an F3 that literally skipped over the apartment building that I was living in. I knew it was time to get in the cellar when I saw a dumpster rolling uphill at 40 mph. I saw that before the warning horns started to blow.

Luckily, there was a deep depression one block from my apartment and when the twister hit that it skipped up and over us and landed 4 blocks to our East. It then continued to demolish buildings to the ground. Scary stuff...you all can keep your tornados.

The first thing I did when I saw this thing was to round up the kids on the street and got them ready to dash for shelter. I gave them the warning: "You don't want to get sucked up by that thing. You'll look more like a mashed worm than Dorothy."

Then Sherri snapped a pic :)
