Writer of books, inspiration for movies and nerve rattler for the "people in charge", Tom Clancy has passed away at age 66.

Certainly one of the greatest of our time. As I read that unhappy news on the 'net this morning, I turned to see several of his books lined up neatly on my bookshelf. He certainly left more of a legacy than most of us do.

I flew into Baltimore on Sunday, and was reminded of Clancy's novels. I was saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age. RIP and condolences to his family.
