Tomorrow's The Big Day!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning @ 0500 to head for Union City, TN to pick up my 06 FJR1300A. :yahoo:

I'm going to trailer it back so that I can do proper break-in on some good roads by the house. Have several gallons of oil in the cupboard, 4 oil filters, and rear gear lube standing by. I don't anticipate break-in taking very long at all. Harbor Freight manual tire changer is ordered and enroute; Motion Pro TBS thingamabob is ordered too. I think I'm ready to go. Gonna order an extra set of tires for Pridmore's school at Barber's in October. I think the OEM's will be well trashed by then anyway. I'm getting a chubby! :hyper:

Congrats MotorSwat... Abernathy's is where I bought my '05 in November of '04. They did a good prep job.

Hey Mike!! congrats on the bike. Post your first ride experience ASAP!!

I was in your little town Saturday and Sunday 7/22 and 7/23. Got back from my vacation like you and had to drop off mom and pop, we drove in from Tampa FL Saturday and I was beat.

Remember, I may need a break if you see an 04 w/Mississippi plate :lol: coming through on 411--suspect I'll be headed back that way again before long on the FJR, mom and pop aint so young anymore so I come over and ck up on them about every 1-2 months gives me an excuse to get some highway travel time on the bike.

You by chance happen to know what happened on I20 yesterday around 1:30 p.m. between Bessemer and Talladega? I saw a car w/windshield shattered and EMT and LEO on site--it was spooky--they were working on someone off on the shoulder. I saw what I thought might be some bike parts or car parts still on the interstate--gave me the willy's. What ever it was, didn't look good for somebody

I have no idea reference the accident. I live in Leeds but police in Hoover. I may be able to find out because some of our guys work an interdiction detail out that way. They're in the black Tahoes. Let me know when you get back this way. There's some good rides in my neck of the woods. As far as tickets go; I am a Revenue Generator according to some schmucks on the board.

Check with your insurance company and make sure it is covered while you are towing it back. I almost had 2 accidents towing mine back from Rome, GA. New cars and bikes, seems like everyone wants to hit them. If there are no pictures of the FJR on a trailer, then it didn't happen.

It would be covered by my tow vehicle's insurance. Amped because of my camper. Thanks though. 9 hours and 44 minutes...
