I took the old Trident out for a ride the other day. It's certainly not the FJR, it doesn't even make half the HP but weight wise probably 225 Lbs less. It was fun getting it out again, had to keep thinking RIGHT SIDE SHIFT - RIGHT SIDE SHIFT! Being that it isn't a overhead cam all the weight is low giving it a low center of gravity making it quite nimble for a old woman! I guess this winter I had better get the clutch fixed as it doesn't disengage properly and re-gasket the top end as she is leaking a bit. It looks like I need to glue the seat trim also.

She was a old barn find that I have been playing with for a few years.

Every once in a while I think about tuning it ino a factory racer.

I know it's old English crap, but fun for me!

Beautiful old bike. My first street bike was a Triumph Daytona 500 2-cyl. I drooled over the Trident. Many years later I bought a used Yamaha XS750 Street Special triple... partly because it reminded me of the Trident I never had. I agree with Don... don't change it.
