This may be a really stupid question, but I just want to be sure before I buy this thing.

If a torque wrench specifies the torque range as 120-960 in/pound is that the same as 10-80 ft/pound?

It probably is, but I don't want to waste my money and I know there are some more mechanically inclined people here.

And check with Sears before you buy. I just recently scored a sweet one on mega-sale. ($59)

Inch pound wrench is very useful on bikes, probably more so than a foot pound one, as so many of the fasteners fall into the low range.

Oh, and my new one came with a ft/lb-in/lb conversion chart for ease of use.

10 ft/pounds is low enough isn't it? I don't recall seeing anything that was tightened with less than 10ft pounds in the service manual..??

17 was the lowest I recall...

Trouble is, a torque wrenches accuracy suffers at the extreme ends of it's range, hence the usefulness of having 3, as db says, as I do, and all the techs I know do.

By extreme ends of it's range do you mean the Max and Min, or only the max?
