Well, since I'm pushing 57 I guess I'll be on the job market for a while... So if you need any tour-organizing support I'll have plenty of time to help you folks.

My company merged with its major competitor and "their" Director of Sales & Mktg is 17 years my junior... It was a given I was the one who'd end up boxing his personal stuff and turning in his credit cards etc. Having just returned from the Pyrenees Tour, I was kinda taken by surprise by the news but at least I could enjoy the ride B)

Stef... Sorry to hear of your job situation. We old guys are way more valuable to companies than the younger ones with no experience, wisdom and time in the trenches. You will find something.....

As for tour planning, I think you may be surprised with the number of us that may want to use your expertise.... Good Luck Rich

Dear Stef,

I was very distressed to read about this development, it's their loss not retaining a highly qualified and professional leader!

With your vast managerial skills, winning personality, language abilities and dynamic presence you will find work in no time.

If there is anything we can do to help from Arizona, please let us know. Just food for thought, since I don't know your monetary/benefits requirements, have you thought about being a "Tour Director" for the major Motorcycle Touring firms?

I am friends with Skip and Nancy Mascorro, owners of Moto-Discovery, and I know that they are expanding in Europe/Asia.

https://www.motodiscovery.com [email protected] I have no idea where this could lead to in your eventual plans, but I know that you are an outstanding Motorcycle Tour Director. I would be thrilled to write you a letter of endorsement!

Yours, Don

Sorry to hear this. Corporate mindset scares me. Glad I'm civil service. Not the best pay, but security's worth something.

Maybe you and FJR Chik need to do a business together.

Recession sucks moist *** cheese. Whatever you do....don't go into aviation....it's a lost cause.

Stef, sorry to hear abt the job loss. It's unfortunate major corporations have such little foresight and common sense.

Hopefully, your time "between jobs" will be brief.

I'm wishing you and yours all the best.

Hey Steph,

Hope you have good luck finding another job.

I worked for a short time doing cell phone refurbishing, but at an age a bit older than you, I'm just not fast enuf.

Hard on the hands too, I had to quit two days ago, the pain in my hands keeping me awake at night wasn't worth it.

If you need some backup on your tour director stuff, give me a yell. I'm available!

Mary

What a coincidence Stef, a bad one. Our company was just bought out by a larger competitor. Guess which network manager they'll keep? I'll be looking again soon as well... also in the mid-50's. Good luck in your search, I'm sure you'll land on your feet.

Stef,

Sorry to hear about your situation. If I run across someone who needs your type of services, I will let you know.

May the force be with you!

Thanks for your concern, guys. I'm pursuing different career options at this time.

I've auditioned for a *** film. The leading role was already taken, but I'm shortlisted for this cameo as a dirty old man. :p

Plus I'm investing my severance pay in a joint venture with a Ms Deborah Bongo-Mutumbo, the ex-Queen of Swazistan, who's selected me by e-mail to split with her a multi-million fortune she's inherited from the late King, may some pagan God rest his soul.

It's the sweetest deal...what could possibly go wrong?

Stef

Best of luck, Steff.

I know you will survive AND prosper.

Wish I could fly... I would be one of your first paying customers for you EuroTour company!

Thats you and me both lucky today Stef, I was selected by the lawyer of a deceased multimillionaire who had no family. He has said if I will launder the money we can split it, all he needs is my bank details. Of course I sent them without hesitation.

Sorry to hear of your bad fortune. Good luck with your job hunting.

Hey, I offered, where you when I was looking for a go between to collect those millions I won in a lottery I never heard of.

Stef, sorry to hear of your sudden career move, unfortunately it's becoming all to common.
