Hmmmmmm.......does not play well with others???

What were the other 3 thinking when they passed him as a group just before the turn? Doh! One guy stands up, the second rider is on the brakes...no where to go. That's assuming the photog rider isn't supposed to stop and let the others go by.

That's as bad as some "group ride mentality" I've witnessed.

What the ?!!!?

It's almost as if the 3 guys passing were simply out for a casual ride :whistling: and then quickly realized, "Uh-oh, there's a corner ... what do we do?" :scare:

Yeah!!! Doh! Prolly 3 friends out for a track day and racing one another (Like, it's our PRIVATE track, man! ). The photog just got caught up in their mess

Judging from the video, seems like that track has rumble strips across a majority of the track center.... lol...

Got his rpm's too low into and thru the turn, and tried to make up some time. The guy running from right to left of the 3-pak? Interesting move.

I think thats the "everyone is fast in a stright line" syndrome. Followed immediately by the "Oh ****, Its a corner Syndrom"

Although, the photog "shoulda" been able to avoid if he had applied brake. he was passed, and didn't have a line to follow without slowing "obviously"

not having but one trackday experience and clearly a novice at it, I looked at the video and it appears to me that possibly different levels of riders were on the track together. Below is some very stringent directions that are used by the FastTracker Riders at California Speedway, Fontana CA. The instructions which if violated will be cause to pull you off the track are related to braking zones and passing rules for the various levels of riders.

California Speedway AMA Track Level III

Ride in Level III on the great 21 turn 2.3 mile AMA Track at California Speedway. It is a fun and very safe track. Passing is allowed on the inside an outside any place on the track provided it is a clean six foot pass. Should be turning laps times under 1:44. If a rider is unable to turn laps times under 1:44 they will be moved to Level II.

California Speedway AMA Track Level II

Ride the truly fun and flowing 2.3 mile twenty one turn California Speedway AMA Track. This is the same track where the AMA National event is held each year. It is one of the safer tracks there is to ride on because there is so many run off areas. Every rider shares garage bays with four other riders. This is one of the nicest track venues around. Level II allows passing inside and out on the straights and the corners. Fastrack's strict six foot passing rule is always enforced. The straight away ends at the second set of braking cones. Level II riders must turn lap times between 1:45 and 1:56 or be moved to Level I. Each rider gets eight on the track twenty minute sessions minus any lost time due to incidents on the track. Fastrack hires extra corner workers so they all get an hour break but the track does not have to be shut down. Another bonus for riding with Fastrack Riders.
