It's that time of year again (spring break) and my eleven year old son is visiting for the week. We took a great little lunch ride down to Los Algodones Mexico yesterday and had some kick ass tacos. (A ride report on that trip is pending...stay tuned for pics and narrative early next week.)
But tomorrow is an exciting part of his visit. We're off to go camping in the Gold Park Mining District (near Joshua Tree National Park just outside of Twentynine Palms, CA). I'm gonna head over to Desert Cycle Works (my favorite motorcycle shop) and drop off my FJR for new tires. I'll drop off the FJR and leave in a Yamaha Rhino owned by Dawn, the shop's owner and a good friend of mine. Then it's off to Gold Park for camping with my son. We'll spend most of the day setting up camp and exploring the surrounding BLM land. Temps have been in the mid to high 70's all week and tomorrow should be much the same. A little fire wood, some Coke for the little guy and a few cold Stone IPA's for Dad and that's a successful day. Good times.
I'll take some pics of our exploring and share them here when we get back (unless you phuckers just don't care).
