Did anyone get to the trials championships in Tenn.
It took place last weekend 5/19- 5/21 just north of chatanooga.
I went with a buddy and it is the first time I'd seen live trials bikes and let me tell you those guys and a few girls are real athletes. They had 3 class's of riders, teens on 125's,expert class above that, and pro class.
There were 15 sections set up and very tough riding through creeks jumping those bikes 6-10 feet on to big boulders in positions you wouldn't beleive. Each section had a different route for each class with the pros having the most difficult and they were given a minute and a half to get through each section.
Everytime you put your foot on the ground you get penalized a point up to 5 and then you have to get out of the section so the next rider can start.I have a new found admiration for those cats, they are some really talented riders in a very difficult sport and very dangerous looking even if you know what your doing.
Their were teams from all over the world there and another thing that was really interesting was that the pro riders had spotters who lined them up going up jumps and constantly yelled out how much time there rider had left.It was real interesting and if anyone gets the chance to watch a competition in their area you won't be dissapointed. One more point, they make you sign a waver before entering, in case one of the bikes go out of control so they're not liable, but i think just climbing around the ravines and creeks you've got a better chance busting your butt on a slippery rock then getting hit by one of those riders.
