Pulled into a gas station to fill it up and there it was, the ultimate cruising machine a Triumph Rocket III with a trailer. It was brand new but this guy had put 11,000 miles on it in two months. He lives in Houston, TX and has 5 Triumphs.
I painfully apologize for not having my camera with me or I'd have an awesome picture to post. But if you can use your imagination. This guy had a trailer on the back and the trailer was so large he had a cooler attached to the tongue. It was about twice the size of those Goldwing/Harley trailers you see. I swear its true. He had just re-iced the cooler for his cold drinks (gatorade and cokes) and topped off the tank. He carried a tent and sleeping gear, a spare tire and extra oil and fuel in the trailer. You could have laid down length wise and not hit your head.
You must have suspected at this point that he had a Brittish/Aussie accent. I don't know what it is with these guys. He had made a loop into Canada and then down the West coast. He said someone chewed is ass out for passing them at over 120 mph. If thats true he has more balls than me. He told me that the big 2300cc Triumph was rock steady even with the trailer on the back.
He said "See ya mate!" And after I left I laughed for a few miles. If you're gonna go cruising do it right! :yahoo:
