I see on the WFO site that there are 40ish pillions. Would someone familiar with the area be so kind as to plan out a ride that would incorporate more stops and sightseeing and less knee dragging? Every time I lean over too far I get a shooting pain in my kidneys...could be the missus!

I know it is 154 days and 8 hours until WFO but all some of us can do at this time of year is dream. So keep those routes a comin'!

Thanks

Believe it or not, there ARE FJR owners/riders who like to ride exactly as you've described....even without pillion. You shouldn't have any problem finding someone to team up with. Your post should bring some out of the woodwork.

Don't you dare tell the Misses that there are people ride like that!

I have not been able to confirm the time off from work yet, or convince the misses to go yet. I however am interested in the type of riding you describe if I make it to WFO this year.

Yes. Cdogman, who lives in Salt Lake has been very generous to provide me with many excellent rides. I just have to convert them to the correct format and they will be posted. Many of these have a bunch of sightseeing opportunities and pairing up with likeminded riders is pretty easy. Just tell people what you are looking for. There are some riders that are 2up that don't slow down with the pillion, so just don't ask for 2up riders. Ask for sedate riders.

+1

Specify: Sedate! And don't try and follow Mr. Yew-noe-whoo (& DieselDi)..... :dribble: or Pegscraper (& MsNascar).

Yeah, I think I'll be pretty sedate while out there. It's just too darn far from the house to risk anything stupid.

Why won't the wife let you rent a truck to bring it home if you act dumb? .....as for sedate...I ride so slow it appears I'm going backwards (makes for great pictures)....just ask BugR, or Bearly Flying, or FJRchik, or Brazso Parker, or Teerex51 or.....ok fine forget it.....

And don't follow Mike-H (& Pen), either.

put me in the sedate group--class A CDL with all endorsements--cannot take safe driving classes, all tickets count regardless of what you received the ticket on (in)-can lose license quickly or be costly or impossible to acquire commerical insurance--have to keep risk factor low as possible but still want to enjoy the rides

Hell, Mikey has even put a headlight on the back of his bike to scare the crap out of his friends when he rides backwards... I formally declare I never had a problem following Mike-H on the twisties B)

I really only like sedate when the missus is along. Although I do agree with Scab that one must be more careful when further from home.

Don't remind me! Case pending.

I honestly do try to keep it down if a photo-op should materialize, but MsNASCAR wears these dang spurs that encourages me to gitty-up. Actually, I'm trying to keep up with the Highlanders when riding with them.

I ride alone so much I can't really judge my riding pace... although I THINK it may be considered a bit aggressive. Oh well, I ride however it feels good! :yahoo:

That's pretty much all I've ever done since none of my friends own bikes, and my only other riding partner (my dad) lives 2 states away. However since I've joined this site, I'm looking forward to meeting boogahboogah and doing some riding with him sometime this year.

Two up certainly changes the dynamics and responsibility. I too found that riding two up can be painfull...on my fjr I get a very uncomfortable thumping on my chest right around 220 kph. (on my private race track)

Put me down for the gimpy, er sedate group. Hey, I'm still learnin if I can ever get time in the saddle. Question is, how do we put this group together "before" WFO? Last year I really didn't know who anyone was, so who do you ask? Me don't know. PM. <>< :unknw:
