I just got my Uni- Filter (Air) in last week. Unlike the dirt bike ones, this one has a permanent piece of foam on the inside about 1/2/ inch thick. The outer surface is a metal perforated sheet. Cleaning will be a little bit more of a pain, since the foam doesn't come out. It is suppose to replicate the stock air flow. Cost was $34.95. Of course since I am not well versed on posting pics, you wont see it. Now if somwebody tells me how to post i'll put a photo of it on this page.

Just removed mine for cleaning. I have one of the first, and some had questioned whether it would clean as well as the oe paper. Well, the Uni wins hands down. The airbox was dusty when I installed the Uni, and I cleaned it out well. Using a white paper towel wet with brake cleaner, I got just a few smudges after 5000 miles with the Uni. It does an excellent job, thank you.

Did you soak the filter in warm detergent to clean it? I fure oiling is not a problem. Soak up excess oil iside with a rag. Nice to here somebody else has one. Do you think you would go 10K before pulling and cleaning?

I used the cleaner supplied with the kit, rinsed with hot water, as per the instructions. I have no doubt that in normal riding (ie: not in Texas) it will go 10 thou no problemo.
