I have a set of MCL risers on my 08' and was feeling an odd, almost click, not clunk in my left handlebar when going over small bumps, slowly. It was like a metal to metal feel if you know what I mean. At speed and normal driving everything was fine, and no feeling of this on the right handlebar. I checked everything! I'm not sure how many times I checked the stem bearing, but I may hold the record; plus wheel bearings, pinch bolt tightness, you name it I checked it. It became an obsession. While watching TV last night an idea came to me, so I made a thin 1/32"cork gasket and installed it between the bottom of the handle bar and the riser plate...oh happy day no more odd feeling. My only thought was the machined surfaces may not have mated perfectedly, and when tightened, there may have been a microscopic gap that would close upon impact, Or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
So for all of you that have been driven nuts by a odd handlebar feeling and have checked everything else, might want to give this a try.
