Some of you know that in Aug last year I was rear-ended while in my 4runner and suffered a horrible concussion and whip lash. If I was on the bike I would not be here. After a year of therapy, medication, and related horrible concussive symptons like depression, memory loss, cognitive dysfunctions, and post traumatic stress that I am proud to say that it appears the end to this nightmare is almost over.

I am off ALL medication and working on the tail end of the whip lash and concussive symptons. I've been hitting the gym hard and have lost 27lbs down to 175lbs and reduced my body fat from 26% to 17%. Even my gym is putting my recovery story in their national magazine. Lately I've been conquering 14k mountains here in Colorado and finally getting out and enjoying life again.

Along the way the girlfriend walked out for not being able to deal with the situation and ex-boss tried to replace me.

However I'm not riding anymore. In the past year I've ridden about 300 miles. Currently I'm selling accessories in the sale section along with my bike.

But there is hope...

I'm dating again and have met a wonderful lady who is worlds beyond what I knew before. However long this last will be joy beyond measure. Though I had to leave my job due to the hostile work environment I started my own company. I provide CFO services, business consulting, accounting, and tax work. The business is in need of clients but I have much less stress than before.

This is not my parting farewell. When my FJR & accessories are sold then I will give a final goodbye.

I want to tell everyone that life is precious and can change in an instant... love those around you unconditionally, forgive, help others, pursue your dreams, and don't let anything hold you back.

:****:

What makes you think you aren't welcome, *appreciated* here, even if the riding has, uhh, diminished? ;)

YES! So don't leave us, ***-wipe, and when the FJR 1400 arrives, be the first to ride that bad dude and let us know how it REALLY is, yes?

And yes, I get it, as much as I can.

You got clocked in a cage; serious injuries, death on a bike.

Then again, I just lost a very good friend, actually, ex-wife, great woman, while her head freaking exploded with an aneurism.

Which ever path you choose, my friend, I support you.

Well I am glad that you are healing. A bit saddened that you are giving up on riding. I do however, predict that a few years down the road you will get back into it, provided the new GF allows it. I found it (riding) to great physical therapy to ride again but my injuries were all the the nerves in my right arm.

Great news about the healing. However, just because you are giving up the motorcycle (for now) doesn't mean you have to leave here. I hope your new busness venture is successful.

+1 to this. I am happy that you are healing and that things are looking up for you....Great news after a very hard year. :clapping:

Dang. Sounds like you've had one helluva year.

Damn glad to hear that things are going well for ya.

DAMN glad!

********.

Stick around.

Besides, sometimes it's kinda nice to have a friend in a cage when an FJR gathering is in a dry county. SOMEone has to have a trunk full of beer...

Get the ******* for hostile work environment then buy a new FJR and ride it by his house every night at 2:00AM. Just kidding enjoy life as you never know when it will be over. Shiny side up rubber side down. Good luck with your business.

My advice is to get on your bike a do a long road trip. Give the finger to your past and embrace the unknown of your future.

I'm happy that you have recovered and have restored love and peace in your life. Regarding the bike, sometimes you have to face the realities of life and make tough but correct decisions on what you can and what you cannot do any longer. I hope that your peace and health will be everlasting; maybe someday you will venture to throw your leg over another bike and discover new two wheel adventures. Peace

You're not the first member of this forum to survive a life altering incident. Some of us completely understand your physical and emotional processes.

BTDT....and it's an amazing feeling!

Along the way the girlfriend walked out for not being able to deal with the situation and ex-boss tried to replace me.
Sounds like a win-win situation.

She may not have been strong enough for you. He doesn't deserve you.

Seriously, while I was still in ICU my manager came to visit and told me I would get a "form letter" from the company because my recovery would take an extensive amount of time. Legally they are not bound to hold my job, BUT...he'd already been on the phone with the Western Regional Vice-President, "We don't want you to worry. You are a valued employee and we are going to hold your position open until you return."

Good luck on your new venture! SUCCESS IS THE BEST REVENGE! :clapping:

I was only off mine for 5 1/2 months. I'm sorry to read that you're selling but, again, I do understand. If the passion still burns within you, selling won't help that sense of adventure. I hope it's only a temporary state for you.

I'm dating again and have met a wonderful lady who is worlds beyond what I knew before.
The ebb and flow of life is wonderous and obviously weaving an interesting tapestry for you.

Amen!

There is no normal life, there's just life. Make the best of it anyway you can. Good luck in your new endeavors.
