up here kijiji.ca is great.

what is a great resource to find used bikes in the US?

trying to see if I can save a bunch more money on an FJR than the best price we have up here.

Right now a 2006 selling for 11k Canadian with a bunch of great mods and add-ons is the best deal I was able to find.

So, any sites anyone can recommend?

Shipping would be nasty though. I wonder if there are rail-based transport options available. I've only been able to find people who send the bikes by semi truck.

Craigs List....the best IMO. Looking at a half dozen '04 and '05 right now within 500 miles of me.

An aggregator like SearchTemptest does a great job at having to do the search just once.

For the savings, might I suggest a fly(rental car drive) & ride.

Might as well get familiar with your new steed and save a wad of dough in the process.

.

Cycle trader is pretty good; allows target searches and links dealers websites.

Even better- The FJR forum/sprouts some good deals as well.

Iggy - nice link. Any other jewels? I'm embarrassed as an IT guy not to have known about it. Should help my FZ1 search.

Here is a link that I use all the time. It will search every Craigslist site all at once. This is how I located my FJR in Texas.

Clicky

check ebay motors as well
I purchased a bike in Florida for a song on ebay and was satisfied...trailered it home to Nawlins'
I found mine on Craigs list, however I just missed a good one on eBay. A dealer in Michigan had a brand new 2007 AE with 2 miles with reserve set at $7500 (which happen to be my max bid). The bike sold for $7600.

Another vote for craigslist. That's where I found the bike I just bought, plus I've sold a couple on there as well. For a mass search I use https://www.allofcraigs.com/ It has settings for different time frames, search by state, and a few other options.
