Hi, I am thinking my leather harley screaming eagle jacket isn't cutting it on the FJR. I like the jacket but not the stink eye I am getting from both sides. some one even called me a harley wannabe. i told them i would give them $50.00 and my jacket if they could give me a harley mechanical question that I couldn't answer correctly. (this is not a standing offer!) this Bro type guy couldn't come up with anything I couldnt answer, so I told him in addition, I would tell him what year his bike was and what parts were not stock and what he had added to it for accessories. ha ha. 22 years certified H.D. tech experience. And yes I got a very prompt apology for the wannabe comment.

I am looking at a aerostitch darien jacket. One of my rider coach friends has one and it is like new. It fits me and he told me to make an offer. He lost weight and it's too big for him. Anyone else using this jacket? What should I offer for it? They are around 400 new and ridercoaches get 10% off from what I understand.

The jacket feels a bit stiff, how waterproof are they and what about warmth? i use as gerbing liner and travel regularly in 30 to 40 degree weather. It will mostly see temps from 30 to 60 degrees and probably alot of rain.

Any comments or suggestions gladly welcomed!

thank you in advance,

tbwrench.

who moved this????????? why??????

i was looking for info on a jacket. not looking to buy one or sell one on the forum.

just how much to offer my friend for HIS jacket and some performance type comments pros/cons on it.

i really thought it fell under discussions on cycle clothing.

My friend sold me his darien jacket and kamatsu electric fleece liner for $180! what a deal. The jacket is red and like new, with armor and the liner is very good as well.

Thanks for the input!

I will probably list my 3X Joe rocket Meteor and mesh jackets sometime soon.

hi Wrench - sounds like a screaming deal

you did good - the darien might not be the prettiest jacket I've owned - but it really does the job.

I'm not sure what to offer for the jacket. I suppose as a starting place you can look at what price Aerostitch sells it's seconds.

As far as waterproof and stiffness. It's very water tight and the stiffness will end with wear and use. I've owned one for years and it's served me well. When I need a replacement I'll buy another. I did buy the non-heated jacket that's sold for underneath and it's warm enough for my purposes. With the side and back zippers you can adjust air flow for the temp that's right for you.

In the heat of the summer I switch to a Joe Rocket Mesh for added comfort and less bulk.
