I went to visit my bike in storage at the dealer today and took the user manual with me...

I read every single line of it in less the an hour... Desperate measures for desperate times... Where is the summer already?? :glare:

Um, here?

Not summer, but got into 70s yesterday and today, and I went out for about 2 hours this afternoon, after an oil change and new rear brake pads. Had to raod-test it, you know?

It's only 37 here... Going up to 41 tomorrow and then back down to 23 and 18..

Where is here? Sounds like this area this year.

Been out everyday on the bike since Monday, tomorrow looks like it might be the last day till spring.. :(

Picked up my "new to me" 2007 this morning in 34 degree weather and rode throughout the day where temp never got over 50...pretty comfortable although the fingers on my right hand got a bit cold (no heating gear at all). As long as there's no snow/ice on the road, the cold weather's just fine. ;)

In SE Michigan today the thermometer read 34 degrees when I rolled down the driveway. Never saw above 36. But the roads were clear of ice & snow. Best 130 miles yet this winter...

Spring? We don't need no stinkin' spring...

The weather really stinks here too...only managed to get 140 miles in today. ;) Hope your weather turns for the better soon. Those cold snowy bikeless winters are no fun.

Glad to see you guys enjoying the rides...

In Toronto they replaced the snow plows with salt in the last couple years. Our roads are white, and not with the cold stuff but rather with tons of salt. Not a big fan of taking a bike out on the salt caked roads.

I'm fairly new to the bike scene, but how cold is too cold for the stock tires? On my old sports care the summer tires would become hockey pucks around 40.

I rode about 280 miles yesterday. Started out at 9:30 a.m. with a temp of 57F, perfect. Ended up at 84F and about 35 mph wind gusts, but I still enjoyed every minute of it!

Maybe you folks down south could quietly ride your bike and not rub it in. Come on your killing me!

Leaving for a ride after lunch.

36 degrees right now. No heated anything. Put on layers and go. I did a 100 miles a couple of days ago and never went above 36 degrees.

See ya!

I had to take my new FJR for a ride today too. I looked at the weather last night and it looked like if I got home by noon or 1, I'd be okay. Wrong. It was fine, but I was wet and cold. Probably 34 degrees this morning. I stood in a hot shower for a long time when I got home. Still loved the ride!

Bouncing up and down-from 0 to in the 20s, actually calling for rain/freezing rain today, but seems too cold. Roads full of salt and sand no matter what temperature. In upstate NY, your best bet is to wait for several heavy rains after the final thaw to clear the roads-otherwise you're playing Russian Roulette with the salt and sand.

Its not the cold, its not the snow, and its not the overcast skies. No, the problem with winter in Northern Virginia is VDOT's utter determination to spend its salt budget. They pre-salt the major roads, and paint just about all of them white with salt. Our roads are no place for FJRs until the spring rains wash it all into the Chesapeake.
