As a local rider and commuter I though it would help if I gave a few pointers on Utah's notorious road construction projects. You can check the UDOT website at https://www.udot.utah.gov/knowwhereknowwhy/.
There are not many projects which will affect the rides created for WFO, but there are a few areas that may be a tad slow, luckily they are isolated and easy to get through.
** Provo Canyon is and has been under construction for as long as I remember. There is a 5 mile stretch that will slow you to 35 or so.
** The main highway into Provo Canyon (8th No. in Orem) is under construction and will effect the ride in and out of Provo Canyon to I-15. There a fewer lanes than normal, but not a problem as long as you are not there during rush hour.
** Rush hour is heaviest at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ** Avoid I-15 NB and SB out of SLC during this time. There is a diamond lane, but it can still be slow.
Highway patrol will generally not pull you over unless you are >10 over.
Drive safe and have fun. If you can, get down to highway 12 it is incredible.
