In all my efforts to design the V1 Radar enclosure I discovered a very cool thing.
As you might know the older 1.7 ver of the V1 is 5/16" thicker than the 1.8 ver.
Mike Valentine assures his customers that they never have to own a radar detector that is not a the top of the game. To make a long story short I sent my 6 year old V1, which has never allowed me to get a ticket, back to Valentine. In return they will send back a brand new unit in the thinner case with the new "POP" Band feature, and with new mounts and cords! He does this for $195.00. That is approx $30.00 a year for the best insurance you can have. Go Mike! "Once you've had the ARROWS you can't go back"
