How many of you got the extended warranty with your bike? How many wished they had? Also, will fuel milage improve? I understand that with only 700km on this thing its still cutting its teeth but I have only gotten about 247 km on this tank and the gauge has only two "feathers" left. I assume this will improve?

I got the "YES" and will be happy I did if I use i before it runs out.

I've always measured mpg while filling up. Distance driven/gallons purchased.

I'm hazy on the kilos/feathers thing but each to his own.

Good luck.

I purchased Y.E.S and am in the process of claiming a defective rear caliper Stripped Caliper Thread Y.E.S. is a gamble like all warranties and service plans. I bought it for peace of mind as I take several multi-day rides per year. I think the effectiveness of Y.E.S. is really Dealer dependent. If you find a dealer that is willing to try and keep Yamaha honest, it can work.

Millage, I don't track this too much. When I have checked it is in the low 40's in miles per gallon.

In my case, Y.E.S. has paid for itself many times over - mostly non-motor for me (broken glove box, blown shock absorber, front fender), but also got the cam chain tensioner fixed.

It's been several years, but fuel economy improved dramatically fairly early in the break-in period and then had another big increase at about 10K miles.
