The Spousal Unit and I depart on 6 October for the Barber Motorsport Parl/Museum in Leeds, AL. Will be her first longish ride on her new F800GS. We will be heading due east from west central MT, across South Dakota, then south thru Omaha, KC and Memphis; 2100 miles. Slab the entire way due to time constraints and will probably be retracing our route on 13 Oct. Weather may force a deviation from the route. Meeting friends from AK who store bikes in the states and hoping to have a great time at Vintage Days. If you see us along the way, then give us a wave. If you are attending Vintage Days then buy us a beer..... we'll do the same.

I plan on being at Barber on Thursday afternoon. I am staying in Camping Lot B with a host of Concour Owners Group fellows. We will be doing it up right. If you see the tents, come on over. Even though I ride an FJR I am still a COG member, it has great benefits

Thanks. Always had a high opinion of the COG ever since one of their members (Paulie) had a run in with a moose up north of Fairbanks. He was a mess and his bike was totaled. We helped him get his possessions sorted out, but the COG bought him a replacement Concours.

Paulie is a close friend of mine, thank you for helping him. He was really a mess, and it was a miracle he recovered fully. If you see the COG tents come by, I will surely buy you a beer or two

Will do. How's he doing? Tell him Kevin from Fairbanks (now MT) says hello?
He is doing great, you would never know what he went through. I hosted our annual Run with the wolf rally in Suches GA a few weeks ago and he was there, looking great. I will tell him when I see him at a rally in south Florida in November.

My first trip to Barber for racing (I'd been to the museum once) AND my first interstate ride on my new-to-me FJR was to this event in 2007. My brother "dragged" me up there and we were in the corner worker crew. We worked the station on the inside of the turn at the pit entrance, and then the station at the top of the hill at the far south turn. Wonderful experience!!!!
