OK, this is my first attempt at an on-board video upload to the 'net. So, forgive the suckageness of the quality as I lost a lot in the compression process. Also, this is but 5 minutes of a twenty minute clip that for some reason, even if broken into several movies, I can't get to upload.

This scene was filmed in 'wide' view and seems to best be viewed that way too. You have the option to change the viewing size just below the video window.

Anyway, enjoy and if any of you computer gurus can lend a hand and direct me to a good 'Internet Video for Dummies' site, I'd purciate it (Howie, you out there?).

Ding, ding, ding... give that man a cupie doll! Foothill, from Sheffield Rd to 150 to Carpinteria Ave at The Bluffs for the best damn hot dogs west of the Mississip!

Cool TWN. ;)

Now you know you scored a free visit to traffic school for that pass on the red bike?

Did you also know that FJR's can and will rev above 3K at will. :p

Special Forces eh? Would have never guessed that.

The mic on that camera is very sensitive, it makes your transmission sound pretty rough. When you go through a turn what is the noise being picked up? wind through the fairing, wheel bearing, cupped tires? Just curious. ;)

What camera and mount are U using, gotta picci?

That's a nice road! Would love to try it sometime.

Be careful of those left-hand turns on the yellow line! Almost lost my skull to a truck one time by doing that..

I think it's a great video for a home set up, loss of virginity  (I mean 1st) try.

Thought it was nice to find out a little of what mine sounds like without a helmet on. B)

Is that in Californication? Regardless, nice road!

Hey, TWN, you certainly exceeded anything I could do - I'm limited to finger paints since the... ah....... 'episode'...... and they get all over the windscreen......

:dribble:

Excellent Job !! Thanks for sharing.

I grew up in Santa Barbara - good to see the old stomping grounds !!

Dude, you rides like old peeps!! At least the motor will never wear out since it never gets over 3K, but you'll kill the tranny with all those double downshifts entering corners. And try closing the throttle when you shift!! Who the hell taught you to ride a MC anyway? :haha:

OK just flippin ya some ****, don't get yer undies in a bundle! From the looks of things, you'll be a video wiz in no time. BTW, video compression is a resource hungry process. You might need to tune the 'ol PC with some special bits if yer plannin to make 'em fancy. Have fun!! :D

First of all, thanks peeps.

Now, Mr. Sky:

The Wing was the fourth vehicle passed illegally. The other 3 were edited due to rather boring conditions. **** traffic school!

And, next time I'll drop the lens to pick up the speedo and tach. Rarely did I pop outta 3rd in the twisties and trust me, my rev limiter works just fine, TYVM. Again, I had to do some scene selection and there are a lot of hidden drives on that route. Had the Sheriff's car been 'round, you'da seen my smilin' *** on the eleven o'clock news... ;)

Special Forces sticker is in honor of my brother, Der Colonel, who I think is doing some spelunking in Afghanistan as I type.

The camcorder is accurately picking up the sounds of my tranny. Clunk, bang, clunk, clunk, clunk. What, yours is smoother/quieter?

The camera is a Canon Elura 80 DV mounted to my Techmount steering stem mount, behind a seriously bugged up screen. I'll post a piccie of the setup tomorrow.

Show us yours!

I was thinking the same thing!

TWN, you have to have the absolute LEAST abused FJR in the US. I hit the rev limiter twice last Sunday, and NEVER hit it until then. Sure wish I had video of my ride.

Excellent job though...... B) Keep up the good work, and don't forget to rev it just a weee bit higher next time. ;)

Like the guys I saw on top of the Sonora Pass this summer.

Bike or video? No go on the bike, its in the shop. No video either I'm afraid, but I like the concept. I did get to observe a large group of SB riders this past weekend blasting on Hwy49 with several mounted up with cameras, one of which was mounted facing rearward off the swing arm.

On your next rideout with the camera, invite someone to ride ahead of you, I think it would help to put in perspective the pace of the ride.

Yup. Crazy sum ***** still throws his *** outta perfectly good airplanes at the age of 50, too! Those guys are some scary, crazy and brave mofo's. Glad to have them on my side.

That was my hope for the 'Clan' ride. Alas, the POS hard drive based camera couldn't deal with the vibes.

Doood, you seen the price of gas?! You didn't notice all my short shifting? Besides, those rev limiters are expensive to replace! :****:

Skyway, here's the set-up:

Dammit! Left the SatRad on again!

That's the tire you're hearing. Sounds strange coming through the mike.

Here's a little advice, take it or leave it. Put a piece tape over the mic, and get yourself a clear filter lens (to keep the actual lens clean). The tape will cut down on the wind noise. Other than that, pretty nice!
