...if he still is. My "informed sources" tell me that sales at many dealerships for last month are off over 60% from last year. A lot of them won't survive.

The problem is financing. HSBC is now tight on retail financing, and since the years of easy credit cards (with usury rates when late) let so many ruin their credit ratings, they approve very few applications.

It was fun while it lasted...

Where the heck you been? This is not something that recently occurred, but it's a function of the stupidity of credit companies not doing their homework and allowing dead beats credit...and now here we are. I'm not talking about the guys that lose their jobs-guys that have contributed to this country and ecomomy for decades, but talking about the sorry ***** that contribute nothing, yet live to tear down what we have worked for years to build.

A lot of legitimate businesses and investors are paying the price and the government could care less. Don't mean to get political, but that's where the heck we are. Enuf said.

There are a handful I would not mind seeing disappear given their sales and service.

We had a local boat shop literally disappear overnight and he occupied a huge building. Next day, all that was left were a bunch of banners facing the interstate advertising the different brands he carried.

It's gotta be tough right now trying to move a luxury item, no matter how damn fun a bike is.

I wish there was a dealer around here that I could give a **** about. I'll just mail-order my parts and do the work myself....

We're doing our bit to help the economy, and a first-class local dealer by buying two bikes from them this year. It wasn't Yamaha though : ( Can't say enough good things about the service we've received from this dealer, over the years. All of their staff are wonderful.

Stopped by Hudson Cycle just today, if one must have a dealer this is the one for me in southern NH. Doing better 'n most. They have modified what they carry in inventory and move what they have. Service is down a bit. They say that when it is warm, and the sun shines, their business is good.
