So it appears TN is on the verge of hiring Lane Kiffen.
Pros:
-Great recruiter
-Ties to Calf. pipeline of talent
- Well liked by players and has coached pros
- Young
- Energetic
Cons:
- No HC experience at the college level
- Limited experience even at the college level where he was a coordinator for 2 seasons...other than that I believe he has been a position coach.
- hmm...opening's at Washington and they didnt even look at him yet he was in the PAC10 for a number of years...wonder why.
- Young, but very likely to go pro again if he suceeds at UT as he wants to prove Al Davis wrong at Oakland
- OC at USC ofr 2 seasons but if I remember correctly, Norm Chow had the offense before him. That offense could have run on cruise control for 2+ yrs before it started to decline with all the systems, players Chow had in place
I am afraid TN has hired itself another Bill Callahan and not a Pete Carroll from the NFL ranks....I hope I am wrong but given that we had to spend $6+ million to oust Fulmer I am certainly disappointed in having a kid come in and take over the reigns.
BTW, go VOLS and beat Kentucky!
