Official Hoon
I've just finished editing the pictures from what our group calls "the big ride." We try to do one of these every year. Last year was Bella Coola and many parts of Canada, this year we rode the Sierras in northern California.
The route is here: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=131469
I will be making a photo book of our trip using one of the many online bookmaking services for each of the riders. I don't yet have all the captions finished. I expect I will be spending another week or so doing that. Like most rides, the pictures are of primary interest to the riders and riding junkies. Normal civilians just don't get it.
Here is a micro snapshot of the ride. One pic per day. Picking just one pic was hard. There were lots of good ones. 11 days, 11 pics. The book has about 125.
Some of the ride reports posted here are damn near works of art, mine is sort of lame. But we had fun.
One final note: the word of the ride was "hoon." One of the riders in our group is a university professor and seriously wacky. After a particularly delightful day of twisties he accused us of "hoonery."
"Hoon," and its derivatives became the word of the ride. Here's a link to Hoonery: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoon
Day One: Leaving Walla Walla, WA to Crater Lake Oregon
Day Two: Crater Lake to Lassen California
Day Three: Lassen to South Lake Tahoe
Day Four: South Lake Tahoe to Lee Vining
Day Five: Lee Vining to the beautiful (huh?) Topaz Lodge in Gardnerville, NV via Yosemite
Day Six: NV to Red Bluff CA.
Day Seven Red Bluff to Fortuna via Highway 36. We also rode the Lost Coast Highway. It seemed we rode the Lost Coast in about 20 minutes.
Day Eight: Fortuna to Cave Junction Oregon
Day Nine: Cave Junction to Bandon, Oregon
Day Ten: Bandon, to Redmond, Oregon
Day Eleven: The Blue Mountains of Walla Walla first come in to view:
