I've been lurking around here for about 6-7 months now with a few posts. I was considering a new 2013 FJR but then somehow an opportunity fell in my lap that I couldn't pass up. I was advertising my 07 BMW F800S on CL here in Phoenix and had a gent contact me regarding a possible trade.

Anyway he said that he had an 08 FJR with 19000 miles on it and was looking for something different. My BMW had just shy of 20K miles as well. So we made a date to look at each others girls and they were in similar condition. Near pristine so a swap was planned (straight Up) his for mine. I think I got the better end of the deal as far as $$$ value goes but my BMW did have a nice amount of farkles and this FJR is near stock which for me is the way I like it. Anyway I brought the black and beautiful girl home this weekend and look forward to getting to know this girl. She runs like a freight train for sure and it has been at least 7-8 years since I have had an I4 in the garage and I forgot how smooth they can be.

Well with that said I look forward to being an actual contributing member here and a couple pics of the new mistress...

Congratulatons and welcome aboard! I test drove the FJR in late '08 or '09 and the only thing that kept me from buying was the black color. Nothing wrong with black, I just know I'd spend far too much riding time worrying about keeping the damn thing clean! I finally picked up a used '07 and love the one year only black cherry color. I still spend far too much time on cleaning though.

Thanks for the welcome fella's and yes both myself and the other gent came out good on the deal really. The FJR bluebook wise has a greater value then the BMW did however I had some very nice mods worth considerable coin. He was looking for something a bit more light to handle but still had some of the touring amenities which the F800S surely did. It is belt drive as well so no final drive issues. Anyway I was looking for something different that could handle a bit more long range touring when needed. We both came out good as far as I can tell......
