Wonderful! I have several short errands to run today, 7 stops total, and I'd planned to put some break-in miles on the FJR as well as show it off to a few friends.

And at 7:30? It's raining like crazy out there.

Fred has it. I just rode in to work though and I can tell you the winds out there are crazy. Hopefully they stay south of you but your forecast doesn't seem like that.

RAINING----GOING TO WORK----What a bummer. Rode my new FJR out at 6:30AM for a biscuit & it was dark and 50 degrees here in Hotlanta. Back at 7:30 with 342 mi on it now. Tried out the S mode-WoW. The new V46 Givi, I mounted yesterday looks O K but is functional. Gotta go as it is 60 degrees now @10AM and I’ll try to continue the breakin. I have only had it up to 135mph so far! Later,,, De

And square tires. Every Florida bike I've ever seen has had square tires

You who lives in Arkansas gets to shut up about square tires!
What? It's ok for Gary to brag about Florida weather, but I can't brag about Arkansas roads?

Nope, them's the rules, they are unfair to a point, but they are the rules.

Remember though, it's because quality trumps quantity. Even though we can ride year round, we are still riding the same crappy roads all year.

We have several ZRX riders from your part of the country that come up a couple of times a year. We could probably stand a FJR rider or two

Bring it on up. I may ride the FJR this year if the new's not wore off by then ;)

ZRX group? Those guys are crazy! I only ride with the insane FZ1 group that comes up there a couple times a year. Heck, both groups were there at the same time a few years ago. That would be the trip that convinced me to buy an FJR. Turns out, giving it your all on an FZ1 trying to keep up with some crazy old bastard on an FJR will tell you that you cannot outride an FJR.

This guy....

We're only supposed to get 10" of snow today......not a problem though because I have on some brand spanking new PR2s.

Looks like that-there lake effect, hey d'ere?

Big CCW swirl over the Lake Mish today. I lived 2 winters in Zion, IL. One where it was so fricken cold they actually closed the Navy Base I was stationed at for two weeks so the little grubs wouldn't get frost bitten walking to the classes I was teaching.

But then in the summer... all the snow melts away and the grass gets green... then brown... and it sucks then too.

Yeah, best get your ass down in the Carolinas man.

PS - Jasen, equal rider on a FZ1 will smoke the pants off the same level guy on an FJR. FJRs are great bikes, but they can't overcome physics.

Oh, I know this, and I was NOT riding up against an equal rider. But since my slow self couldn't outride the guy on the FJR, then I knew I couldn't outride an FJR.

I knew what you meant ;)

I heard so many guys say their Goldwings would outrun sport bikes I got tired of correcting them.

I took my stock ZRX1100 to Barber in 2003 and outran a guy on an Aprilia. Therefore, a stock ZRX will outrun an Aprilia. Right?
