Just wondering, I picked up the FJR today (Yeeeee Hawwwwww!). What a machine! Just curious, the clutch engages immediately when you let it go (I mean immediately) is this just an adjustment? I rode the 07 and 08 and both did the same thing. What a difference over the C14 ABS; I mean much lighter and I let it sit running for 20 minutes just to make sure the fan kicked on to test the engine heat. There was some heat coming off the engine (80 degrees today) when I got on but as soon as I took off--within a quarter of a mile there was no discomfort. When riding the fan didn't kick on very often. What a nice bike! The stock saddle is the best I've ever been on.

One other thing I need answered, there seems to be a lag in the throttle response when "rolling on" a split second before the engine catches up to your wrist. This is an 07 model. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, is there a remedy? There was also a small bit of vibration above 80 mph, not harsh but you can definitely feel it. The windshield is useless in the full up position for me 6'0" (CalSci +3.5 here I come). The throttle and clutch issues are the only things I'm concerned about. Anyone with experience please respond and give ole Dirk the skinny on this BEAST! I LOVE IT! It literally handles like a sport bike. The mirrors are perfect for rear visability; something the C14 lacks as the funky nature of how the bags attatch to the frame. All in all great, it has much more wind protection than I thought it would have with the minimal fairing. How do you use the A/C plug in the cubby? Seems an odd place to place it.

All the clutches are the same. Being hydraulic there isn't really any adjustment other than the lever position. One thing that helped me a little was to loosen the clutch lever perch and rotate the lever assy down to make it line up with my arm for a straighter pull. Tiny bit more comfortable. Same with the front brake lever.

The engines are very lean out of the factory and some may have a hesitation. Do a search for Barbarian Mod. for a quick free fix. Or a better fix is a PCIII but that's a few hundred dollars.

Ride, enjoy, repeat!

For a quick and easy fix, take the slack out of the throttle cable and set your idle to 1250 rpm. For the clutch, set it on 5.

It worked for me.

Got my sliders there as well. At my door in 3 days or less. Just remember it was FAST!

Bar ends took care of the buzz in the bars.

I fixed the clutch issue, I didn't like it letting go right off the grip, I installed a Galpher SS clutch line and now it lets go about 1/3 out. I like it that way.

Oh how I "hate" you southern blokes with your tales of how many miles you put on just yesterday :angry: I traded off my VTX 1800 for an 08 FJR, but my Honda is still in MY garage!! Waiting for dry roads here in Iowa so dealer can deliver the new bike, and pick up the trade in. Still won't be able to ride it for a while, but gives me time to get to know the FJR, and to add some farkles I already have to it.

Congrats and welcome. See this thread for the "G2 ergo" throttle sleeve and Gen 1 clutch master cylinder. They will help with the jerky control feel and cost ~$100 for both mods.

I put some "Grip Puppies" and Areostich Bar End helmet locks. Their big heavy stainless steel bar ends and work Nice! And now I can lock my helmets and jackets up without dumping the side bags out.
