Are the new 06 owners in the North just looking at thier FJRs in the garage or are y'all puttting on the cold weather wear and getting in some miles?
Got to put a couple hundred miles on over the weekend, temps were 45 or below, I need a taller windscreen & why the hell did they fix the heat problem! :D
I bet you didn't try adjusting the fairing lowers to the outside position! I tried it today and it directs more warm air to your lower legs and feet than the old models did. So you can put them to the inside position when it's warm and you stay nice and cool, and when the weather turns cold, you put them in the outside position and keeps the wind off your knees, and puts warm air on your feet.

I am loving it!

I finally saw the '06 blue at the International Bike show....Yup, I loved it!!!

But am I the only one who wants to see this bike in BLACK!!! :D

Picked mine up on Saturday and rode home from the dealer (~300 miles), then on Sunday did another ~300 miles with a buddy. Hit insane speeds on back country roads--this bike has serious giggle factor!!! As of yesterday I had ~800 miles on it. I did the 600 mile servicing (actually at ~700 miles) on Monday evening; but I had changed the oil at 20 miles so wasn't too worried. Oil came out darker than I expected, but I'm using regular petrolium-based during the break-in. Changed the final drive oil, and per the rec's at fjrtech.com ( https://fjrtech.com/getdbitem.cfm?item=36 ), pulled the final drive assembly and lubed the drive shaft with marine grease and the drive splines with Moly 60 paste. Warchild was right; there was virtually NO lube on the drive splines, and none on the shaft. Took me maybe 20 minutes to do from start to finish, and so glad I did! Odds are I'll be pulling the drive shaft every time I remove the rear wheel for tire changes, as once you've got the tires off it takes maybe 5 extra minutes to do this.
