I think scam

I wouldn't give him a penny unless you see the bike. I got scammed once via eBay and it was a very expensive lesson.

TOTAL SCAM!! $400 wouldn't cover the farkles he has listed. I ran into close to the same thing, but on E-Bay. Same kind of scenario to, guy would never to me where and when I could come and pick the bike up, and pay him in person.

Any legit deal won't seem so fishy. The rule of "If you have to ask..." seems to work, here.

If you believe that, then I've got a bridge to sell you cheap!!

Of course it's a scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it's a SCAM.

Not even an ***** would sell an undamaged FJR for $400. Greed tends to kick in if nothing else. $4k would make me ask "Why so cheap" and "What's wrong with it". $400 and I'd not bother to respond.

Tell your friend to have fun stringing him along, but don't EVEN think about sending him any money.

"Oh sorry, I forgot the title, uh...I'll sign it and send it to you next week, ok?"

"Sure you can use my plates for awhile, afterall I'm not gonna ride it."

"The key doesn't work too well, I just twist these two wires together' it's kinda like a hidden security system!"

Tell him to send you his address and I'll fly down, buy the bike after inspection from myself and a couple of guys I know from Chicago. If I fly there and the bike is a rip off my guys from Chi town will ask him to refund our money....politely of course. I actually did this (asked for the address and I'd come to see a bike along with phone number) never heard from the guy again. This Scam smells so bad you need a couple of Tampax to shove up your nose.
