I can't believe I just saw this. I heard the Mexican workers in the Yamaha factory named the bike for Arizona and New Mexico. FJR Stands for ******* Jose Rides.

When someone asks you this in person, ask them what does GSX, ZX, KLX, CBR, or any of those other letter sequences stand for? Maybe they'll figure out the it doesn't have to stand for anything and hopefully they'll go away feeling stupid.
