This morning on my way home from work I went to accelerate, on the hard side, and all the sudden she cut out on me. I backed off and then went to do it again and she did it again. Then after riding normally till I got clear of traffic I tried it again this time she did as requested but with out the power normally expected. As I came to a stop at the off ramp she died. It took a few tries to get her to idle and then all was normal again. I have to figure she's letting me know there is something my limited mechanical knowledge is not seeing that needs to be addressed. I'm looking for suggestions no matter how obvious it might be that I could track down. She's at 69000 Miles now.

This happened just before my aftermarket burnt to toast, shorted, and left me stranded in western NC on a Sunday evening...

Yes, my whole after market.

Aftermarket stator...

No warning or codes
Then it's nothing to do with any "safety" cut-out by the CPU or gear-change MCU, which narrows it to a "conventional" problem (loose battery or other connection, spider bite, duff stator, fuel starvation or whatever).
Does the side-stand switch cut the engine if the sidestand is lowered (I should know but can't remember). Could you have a weak side-stand return spring or bad switch or connector?

Checked and cleaned battery, looked good. Checked side stand and all connections seem good as well. It is acting as if it is suddenly cutting of the fuel. I haven't been able to find anything about a fuel filter, did I mention limited mech knowledge? Is there one that needs to be changed. I've been doing the oil, spark plug, air filter changes for the last 22000 miles.

Check if the coupler in the pump is clean and properly connected..

Also check all the couplers under of the gas tank if the contacts are clean..

I have read somewhere here a post about the same issue and the problem was in the dirty coupler of the pump..

An other guy also with the same issue, the problem was in a dirty coupler under the gas tank in the front side, but i can't remember where i have read them..

Do you have a power commander? I had mine do that, but it was due to the ground wire for the PC coming loose.

Since I recently changed the plugs I'll have to check those. Thanks

For the most part everything is stock on my bike. If it didn't come with it then most likely I don't have it. Between the lack of know how and the wife...
