What should he pay for a 2007 Honda 919 in showroom shape with less than 1000 miles?

A good friend is looking at an '07 Honda 919 in cherry condition with less than1000 miles. Seller is firm at $6k, Buyer is torn since bikes he likes are $8k and up however this may give him good service until he can upgrade. I saw it today and it is a sweet red creature.

Anyone have experience with this bike or an informed opinion on its value?

KBB shows $4500 for a bike with 25000 +/- miles. Buyer is a low time rider and has not ridden for several years.

Seller can ask whatever he wants...market determines the value.

Riding season is over for most. If your friend really wants it Ralph, make a reasonable offer close to retail and see what happens. Waiting out the seller will drop the price if he's motivated.
