Hey. Newb here...

What soap works best to clean a Gen1 FJR?

I know there are lots different soaps, some have a wax in them, some have shampoo and conditioner, some protect for shear, some help the clutch, others get off bugs and tar, yet leave the tires dry. I don't want to buy the high $$ yamawash, what's out there that will help me?

Any help is appreciated.

as some of you know,i keep my baby as clean as possible after i follow my english pal all over the california roads.i use meguairs car soap,a clean wash mitt and dry with baby diapers.

after shes dry i wax with carnuba, use back to black on the plastics and side bags and windex on the exhaust.

nothing better than passing a dirty bike with a clean one.******* !

Silly Californians. This is a good time to learn something. You do not use soap to wash an FJR. The simple reason is that the rain makes the soap bubble too much and it's hard to see. What do you mean you get water from a hose? What's a hose? All the water up here falls from the sky.

How do you water the lawn in Oregon? Rain.

How do you wash the bike in Oregon? Rain.

How do you pressure wash the house in Oregon? Horizontal Rain.

How do you take a shower in Oregon? Stand in the rain.

How do you wash a sheep in Oregon? Send it to Bustanut, he washes, shaves and waxes it before sending it back. :dribble:

Git ya all smellin' purdy.

Somehow.....I was expecting Barry to suggest "soap-on-a-rope" and invite you to his shower bike wash in the back yard. Except you have to run the sheep off, first.
