LMFAO!! I saw frost in Floriduh one time....IIRC it was during The Little Ice Age of 1976....yup, back when men were hairy...and so were the wimmins.

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. I went Christmas shopping on the FJR in the mild 57 degree temperatures, just after the rain showers ended this morning. Our roads are clear and unsalted with no risk of ice, and it feels like spring. We have yet to have an accumulating snowfall. Last year at this time, well, it wasn't bad. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/155655-whats-the-weather-like-where-you-are-today/page-56?do=findComment&comment=1200593

The forecast is for 66 degrees and sunny here on Christmas Day.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. - Snow and icy conditions are forcing drivers to turn around or hunker down Tuesday morning along Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass - and conditions are only expected to get worse in the hours ahead.

Another steady storm has been dumping several inches of snow in the mountains, closing some lanes of I-90 intermittently over the pass. But it's just a prelude to heavier snowfall in the forecast.

A winter storm warning has been issued for the Cascade Mountains calling for about a foot of new snow Tuesday night and another foot Wednesday morning.

"Significant amounts of snow will make travel hazardous or impossible through tonight," says the warning issued by the National Weather Service.

So far, about 12 feet of snow has fallen at Snoqualmie Pass in the month of December.

Meanwhile, the state Department of Transportation has issued a list of restrictions for travel across the passes in an effort to try and keep everyone safe.

Right now, oversized loads are prohibited and chains are required. Many drivers are just waiting it out - but their wait may be a long one.

Heading west, semi trucks that made over the pass are pulled over because they don't want to risk sliding out of control on the way down.

Earlier, near-whiteout conditions, with blowing snow and huge flakes, limited visibility to just a few inches. On the road, the snow was thick enough to obliterate lane markers.

On a normal week, about 600 cars try to cross Snoqualmie Pass through the busiest hours. But on a holiday week like this, that will jump to 1,500 cars an hour. And it won't take much for one spinout or stall to cause problems.

Just got done pushing more white **** around. We got about 10 inches over night and have winter storm warnings through tomorrow morning. Ho Ho Ho Hope Santa brings me the lump of coal so I can burn it and melt snow.

Wasn't Barry looking to relocate to LaPine? He must not read this thread in the winter.

Yesterday was great and I was able to give all the bikes some great "seat time."

This morning we awoke to thunder and lightening. It is raining to beat the band.

Yesterday morning the meteorologist on one station said we were expected to get 7.91 inches of rain over the next day or two, but on the same station last night a different meteorologist predicted only eight tenths of an inch. Sounds like maybe one of them missed their decimal point.

No doubt we're having a Christmas thunderstorm though. These are very strange days.

No white stuff in the Great White North...... 40+F (5C) today, sun trying to poke through..... I'm going on a little two wheel trip, as I have never had a bike ride on Christmas Day that I can remember. El Toro sending his rain our way tomorrow..........

3+ feet on the ground but no fresh stuff to plow and the sun is shining . Temp is 3 degrees.

My wife and daughter are out golfing, I'm just about to raise the umbrella on the patio table to get the sun out of my eyes. The para surfer's or kite surfer's were out in force at Kailua Beach. 76f and light trade winds with just a few puffy white clouds. Mele Kalikimaka as they say here!

Didn't Irving Berlin write "White Christmas" while sitting on the beach in Hawaii.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

It's 'effing snowing. Finally! NICE!
Imagine that. It's 55 and raining. No snow since a little dusting a few weeks ago. No snow in the forecast until late January either! I'm not complaining, but this is some odd weather this "winter"

Green Christmas here close to Santa's place.

We got about an inch last night though. This is only the second snowfall we've had this year, and the first one was in Nov!

Woke up to -5.

Woke up to a rainy 40 degrees this morning....brrr!! Not complaining too much though, there was tornado damage and houses destroyed around 30 miles away from us last night. I feel for the folks that lost everything, especially during the holiday season. Strange weather indeed. Our plans for today.....put another log on the fire.
