What going on with the rides? Is the rides listed going to be organized or just whoever goes? We just pretty much rode the Big Dog route last week and am interested in some new ground. Any info yet? Thanks, PM. <><

There are NO organized rides put on by the WFO Staff. Rather, we have provided 10 outstanding rides where WFO-5 attendees can make their own fun, on their own terms and timetables!

We have included their directions and Route Sheets in .PDF format: Suggested Rides during WFO-5

These are all separate from the SaddleSore ride that George (beeroux) Zelenz is in charge of.

These rides are all spactacular; I've ridden each of them many times over the past several decades. For those that aren't incline to whack out a 400-mile run during their stay in Reno, I strongly suggest Rides #6 or #8. Virginia City has a fascinating history which goes well beyond being the fictional home of the old Ponderosa Ranch for the western "Bonanza" televison series.... it's a very cool place with a TON of Western history....

And one ride that some of the local talent cooked up!

TC, Dude, Yous don't want no rookie on the FJR like me leadin da ride. I do have experience doin the sweep spot though with some other type groups and I think I could do that well on the FJ. So guess I could put dibs on that. I do like rides numbers 6 and 10 though. PM. <><

Dude, I lead the first group ride I ever went on, two months after getting the bike. It's cake:
1) Don't crash (ride your pace or slower)

2) Don't get lost (take GPS or a map)

3) Don't lose the bike in your mirror

There won't be any rides unless some participant folks step up and get things started (but then again, maybe people aren't coming to ride). :dntknw:

Well "Toe" you are correct you get out of life what you put in. So, I will offer my services and would like to assist anyway I can for the rides and riders that are taking place.

For your information I do not have a gps ( nor do I want one) I ride with maps and by sight and free lance

. Have ridden most of the area that has been suggested and even know lots of other areas on some of the routes.

I will be there on the 27th. I am going to get a new set of tires put on first thing from fjr goodies, then I will be good to go.

Also made reservations at a motel just one block away cost ---One night 34.00 next two 102.00 for a total with out taxes of 136.00

thanks weekend rider
