Where to Buy Tire around SLC?

Headed out on a long ride, and it looks like my rear tire might not make it home. It's a new FJR with stock Bridgestones. I figured they would be good for at least 4,500 miles. At 2700 they are down to 2mm, measured from the top of the wear bar. I usually run Pirelli Angels, which will go well beyond 6,000.

Anyway, I will need to make a decision around Salt Lake city. Any recommendations on who might stock suitable tires for an FJR?

+1 on Wheaton's post. I had the same issue a few years back when I planned to head to the OKC area. Since I don't mount my own tires, I didn't want to pull mine off and mount new ones before I went and keep the old ones as a backup. I got the price for parts and labor from my local dealer, and a recommendation from the forum for a good Yama dealer there, and called. They said they had what I wanted (or they could have ordered it so it would be there for sure) and they gave me their price, Quite a lot more than my dealer. When I told him that, the OKC parts manager agreed to match the price from Roseville Yamaha.

Unfortunately, I ran into bike problems on the way to SWFOG in Taos and never made it to Oklahoma, but this seems like a pretty good approach for you. Good luck.

South valley motorsports has a tire, but the parts guy tells me appointments are booking two weeks out. Crazy.

If I thought I would need a tire by SLC I would change it before leaving home. We are only talking about 600 miles and how much would you save. I know when I am on the road it cost a more to have tires installed.

For a little peace of mind it would be worth it to chuck out a tire with a few miles left on it.
